Located an hour's drive and under 40 minutes by train from central London, Rochester Independent College is a private, co-educational boarding school for students aged 16-19. The school is truly unique, combining academic rigour with a creative buzz. The stimulating curriculum includes some 40 A Level courses and an outstanding Sixth Form College; all taught in intimate classroom settings where students don't wear school uniform and are on first name terms with staff. Rochester Independent College (RIC)'s focus is on achievement without unnecessary pressure, on examination success in a lively, supportive and informal atmosphere. The school is a specialist in entry to medical school and this year 6 places were won at Oxford University, 2 at Exeter, 2 at Bristol University and one at University College London.

The school occupies a one-of-a-kind urban campus. Sports and Arts
Students at RIC enjoy a colourful range of sports and clubs. They are served great school meals and help plan their own exciting events, parties and innovative trips. Music, Art, Film and Drama give a creative buzz. All non-academic activities are optional and students are free to make their own choices about what to take part in. Fun activities include cinema, 10-Pin bowling, games nights, trampolining, football, swimming and fitness. Trips are regularly planned for London, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and Margate.
Dormitories and Student Life
Student accommodation is located on the urban campus, so commuting from classes to boarding facilities is not required. All pupils are closely supervised by resident staff in a safe and secure environment. The dormitory facilities include single or twin (most e-suite), common rooms and study areas. Everyone has full access to the school's sports pitch, fitness centre, on-site cinema, art studios and the stunning gardens. Whilst at the school, all non-native English learners benefit from the outstanding IELTS programme and renowned English, Mathematics, Science and Film Studies departments.
