The College of Richard Collyer or Collyer’s, as it is more commonly known, is an OFSTED Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form College with a reputation for excellence both locally and nationally. The school can boast the best examination results in the local area for the last 3 years and is also ranked as the 3rd best sixth form college in the UK on this basis. Over 45 subjects are available at Collyer’s including A Levels and BTECs and staff give students detailed guidance regarding their combination of subject choices to ensure they match their personal interests, talents and progression aims. Situated in a beautiful market town called Horsham, the college is ideally located between London and Brighton with easy access to Gatwick Airport which is just twenty minutes away by car or train. Collyer’s students have access to excellent progression advice, with dedicated members of staff advising on university applications including Oxbridge applications. Once they leave school, 88% of the school’s alumni gain a 1st or a 2:1 at university. This places Collyer’s graduates ahead of the private school sector average, and significantly ahead of the state (public) sector. The college promotes an inclusive culture in which well-qualified teachers prepare students to learn though exciting and challenging teaching, aided by first class facilities and modern learning technology. Facilities
Collyer’s is an attractive campus college with excellent facilities to support students across their learning and extra-curricular activities. The College was founded in 1532 and teaching has been taking place at the current site since 1860. The college site is a fusion of historic buildings combined with modern buildings and classrooms, creating a spacious and inspiring place to learn. Facilities include a large and modern library, a sports centre for basketball, badminton and table tennis, a student gym, outdoor courts for netball and hockey, football and rugby pitches, art studios, performing arts spaces, studios for photography and media, computer suites, a Design Technology workshop, a Careers and Higher Education department and a canteen serving hot and cold food for students.

Sports & Arts
There are plenty of enrichment activities available to Collyer’s students including sport, music and drama, offering them the opportunity and encouragement to develop personally as well as academically. Students can choose from playing sports at Academy, College or Recreational level depending on their preferred sport and level of interest. Sports on offer include rugby, netball, basketball, football, hockey, rugby, badminton, table tennis, dance, volleyball and yoga. The college is host to West Sussex Music, who have their offices on campus and all students are encouraged to take part in music and performing arts as an opportunity to broaden their horizons and skill sets. Throughout the year students will have opportunities to participate in music groups, the dance company, radio production, film projects, drama competitions and showcases, devised musicals, writing workshops, auditions training, LAMDA qualifications and meeting with visiting theatre companies.

Student Life
Students at Collyer’s benefit from excellent pastoral care from their personal tutor, Head of House, Student Services, Study Support and Student Wellbeing Teams. Personal tutors and Heads of House provide guidance, monitoring and support through each stage of the Sixth Form journey, for every student. The tutorial programme, delivered weekly, helps students to settle into school, develop independent learning skills and supports students in making decisions about the future. The local town, Horsham, has a wide variety of shops in a pedestrianised area with lots of cafés and restaurants. Collyer’s is a 5-minute walk from the train station and is situated next to a large central park which connects the school to the town centre. Collyer’s has a thriving Student Union that acts as the student voice, representing the whole college community. It is led by a group of democratically-elected student officers who are voted in each year by the student body, and managed by a member of staff. The student officers meet periodically with tutor group representatives to discuss and make decisions on ways in which college life can be improved to promote inclusivity, enrich learning and ensure that every student has a positive and fulfilling experience during their time at Collyer’s.
