The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District is located on the East Coast of Vancouver Island and is only a 90-minute ferry ride from downtown Vancouver. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement Courses in the areas on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. In addition to these AP Courses, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District also offers French Immersion and Dual Credit Courses with Vancouver Island University for students to receive college credit. Clubs and extracurricular activities are popular at these schools, students can choose from clubs and activities like Robotics Club, Dance Team, or Model United Nations.
FACILITIES
Students in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District have access to modern facilities and technology. Schools in the district have varying facilities including multi-purpose sports fields, computer labs, recording studios with video editing equipment, performing arts theaters, ice skating rinks, swimming pools, and fitness gyms.
SPORTS AND ARTS
The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District have a strong athletics program, teams such as volleyball and football have recent Championships in the past couple years. The Nanaimo- Ladysmith School District also offers Sports Academies, including Ice Hockey, Beach Volleyball, Lacrosse, and Soccer.
Schools in the district offer two Fine Arts Academies: Performing Arts Academy and Jazz Academy. These academies offer students to focus directly on these intensive programs. Other schools in this district also offer other arts programs for students to take based o off their interests.

Nanaimo and Ladysmith are beautiful seaside communities located on the East Coast of Vancouver Island, just 20 minutes from Vancouver by plane and only 90 minutes by ferry. These safe, peaceful, and clean communities host a beautiful natural setting with forests, the ocean, and mountains. The Nanaimo and Ladysmith communities have the benefits of larger cities with recreation, culture, and shopping, but also have the small town community feel. During the winter months, the Mount Washington Ski Resort is 90 minutes away by car for those who enjoy skiing or snowboarding.
